SMS Consent
BAF SMS Consent
Operated by Barlet Tech LLC
1. Program and operator
Program: BAF.
Operator: Barlet Tech LLC.
This page covers BAF's own SMS program. Consenting here does not apply to any other Barlet Tech LLC product or service.
2. What this program is
BAF's SMS program sends operational and transactional notifications only - messages tied to your own account or activity within BAF. BAF does not use this program to send marketing, advertising, or promotional text messages, and no marketing consent is requested anywhere on this page or in the BAF product.
3. The exact consent language used in BAF
When an authenticated BAF Member turns on SMS notifications in their own account settings, BAF shows this exact text next to the control:
“By turning this on, you agree to receive BAF platform and system operational text messages at the phone number above.”
“Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance. Providing this consent is not a condition of using BAF.”
This is the exact wording - not a summary or a paraphrase.
4. How consent is actually given today
BAF obtains SMS consent in exactly one way today - directly from you, signed in to your own BAF account:
- You sign in to BAF and go to Settings → SMS Notifications.
- You enter your own phone number, in international format.
- You explicitly turn on the SMS notifications control - it is off by default and never pre-selected; nothing turns it on for you.
- You select Save.
- BAF records your phone number, the time you gave consent, and the exact wording you agreed to - all confirmed because you were signed in to your own account when you did it.
BAF does not obtain SMS consent through a public website form, an inbound SMS keyword, a tenant administrator granting it on someone else's behalf, or any marketing sign-up flow. BAF does not currently offer any of these alternative ways to opt in.
5. Opt-in evidence
BAF provides a public representation of the SMS notification opt-in experience, including the mobile phone number field, the unchecked consent checkbox, and the disclosure presented at the point of consent.
6. Frequency, charges, STOP, and HELP
- Message frequency may vary.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time.
- Reply HELP for assistance.
7. Consent is optional
Providing SMS consent is entirely optional and is not a condition of using BAF. You can use BAF fully without ever turning this setting on.
8. Withdrawing consent
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving further texts right away. To update the consent record in your BAF account itself, turn the setting off in your account settings - that is the current way BAF's own records reflect your choice. Withdrawing consent does not erase the historical record that consent was previously given, when, and under what wording; that history is kept for audit purposes, the same way it would be if you granted consent again later.
9. The phone number this consent applies to
Your consent applies only to the phone number you enter for BAF SMS notifications.
